Power On - MegaMan 3 PC Bosses by MSipher Power On - MegaMan 3 PC Bosses by MSipher
A little glimpse at something I've been working on for a while. My updating's been slow so I thought I'd get this out here.

I am of the opinion that generally, you can salvage good stuff out of crap, fictionally. The MegaMan PC games are undeniably crap, but I have a certain fondness for their Robot Masters. And it really doesn't take any kind of radical redesigning to make them look neat. I'd actually really like to do some stuff with these guys, and I have a few ideas, but some of the bigger ones are well outside my scope. But hey...

So here they are, clockwise from top-left: GasMan (formerly OilMan), SliceMan (formerly BladeMan), TorchMan, BitMan, SharkMan, and WaterMan (formerly WaveMan).

The bosses from the first PC game will be along soonish.

These are fantastic! I've always been fascinated by these incredibly awful Mega Man games, and wondered what it would look like if someone redrew the robot masters in a style that matched the more official stuff. This seriously made my day. Outstanding work.

There were two games; oddly the second was "Mega Man 3".

They are both really, really rough. The PC was not a very good action-platformer platform at the time. Also, you'll need to install some extra programs to run them properly, something to slow them DOWN.

I won't say "don't play them", but I will say "don't expect a very good game".

I already had thought of renaming some of these guys to differ them, but your names fit better then the ones I thought off.

I loving Bit Man. They need to make remakes of these games. I actually wouldn't mind seeing them MM7 style, because they were already in a horrendous version of 8-bit. Besides, I think MM7 style would allow some more detail.

I see that everyone but Bit appears to be jumping. .Is this a reference to the actual game?
These redesigns are very plausible, though!

These guys freak me out so much. I just can't see them as anything else but 'kidnapped and converted' versions of Robot Masters I know as love. I love how the yellow one looks like the lovechild of Crashman and Sparkman though, lol.

Well, let's be honest, early MegaMan designs borrowed a fair few elements from each other. I attempted to individualize them a bit more, thus GasMan's tank-like body, TorchMan;s more cylindrical design, etc., but without diverging too much from the originals.

Personally, I have no problem with the notion that some of these bosses were built using Wily's blueprints, but intended for (mostly) industrial work instead. (I figure Shark and Slice are security bots.) It's my personal canon that the PC bots were all developed for work on a massive island "Power Complex" that provides a massive amount of energy globally, particularly to Megalopolis.

I apologize if my comment bothered you in any way at all, that was pretty rude of me. I think your redesign on each one is radical, but the PC bosses just kinda eek me out a little because the games were just terrible. You have a very good point though, in that you can salvage good stuff out of crap. You have a very nice style here that looks quite authentic and your overhaul makes these guys look a lot better than they originally were. You didn't divert away too much from their original designs so that they're unrecognizable either, and I can see your point on borrowing certain features and elements from other Robot Masters. If Wily has a design that works, it would make sense he'd re-use it.

Oh, not bothered at all. Trust me, it takes more than commenting on the shoddiness of designs I didn't do to get under my skin. (A LOT more.)

You did a good job redesigning them a bit, even if they still sort of look like zombified sprite RM's.

You made the MM3PC guys look badass. :) Nice!

(I find it hilarious how many similarities "Sliceman" shares with MM10-Blademan...)

Never knew these existed - I always thought the original MM3 robot masters were in it. Where can I find images of these guys?

[link] The best non-Wikia site with info on the game. (I really, really do not like Wikia. And sadly the non-Wikia MM wiki is woefully incomplete.)

Wow...all the headshots are just recolored and tweaked headshots from MM 2 and 3. Y'know, if someone took it upon themselves to recreate this game from scratch, it might be good. Though, I'd probably rename Shark Man something like 'Bite Man' instead.
